Abu Dhabi-based NIP Group Inc. (“NIPG”) (NASDAQ: NIPG), a global digital entertainment company, has expanded its Bitcoin mining and high performance computing operations to mine 160 Bitcoins per month.

As per the press release, the expansion to a capacity of 11.3 EH/s will strengthen NIP Group’s position among global Bitcoin miners and establishes as the largest Bitcoin mining entity in MENA. NIP notes that its strategy is to merge gaming, entertainment, blockchain, AI and high-performance computing in one ecosystem.

Hisham Chahine, Co-CEO of NIP Group noted that building large scale computing power offers them a strong foundation to pursue, opportunities in high-performance computing, crypto mining and AI applications in gaming and entertainment. He states, “As a pioneer among gaming companies establishing significant computing infrastructure, we’re uniquely positioned to explore emerging use cases at the intersection of gaming, entertainment, blockchain and AI.”

This announcement comes days after du, UAE’s telecom and digital services provider, became the first telco in the country to launch a Cloud Mining as a Service (MaaS) offering called “Cloud Miner”, an ICT Infrastructure to pioneer sustainable crypto innovation. “Cloud Miner” is designed exclusively for UAE residents in line with du’s commitment to transparency, security, and regulatory compliance.
